It’s been around the blogs today, but in case you missed it, check out the well-done John McCain MySpace prank that happened when McCain’s staff snarfed code for a well-known MySpace template — and hotlinked to an image hosted by the code’s creator. And what do you do when someone hotlinks to an image you have hosted on your site, snagging your bandwidth, etc.? If you’re Newsvine’s Mike D., you replace the image with something that makes them stop, of course. Mike did a lovely job of reversing McCain’s stance against gay marriage for a bit, until McCain’s staff replaced the image. Too bad they can’t hotlink McCain’s brain to more tolerant one.
